I am an A-level student studying in the UK. For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed learning English, which led to the difficult decision to leave my parents at the age of 16.
After I arrived in the UK, I have quickly bridged the language and cultural gaps and achieved academic excellence. At that time, I was quite confident with my English ability and had tries in IELTS exams.
However, it was disappointed that I had got only 6 in IELTS for many times. For the first time, I lost confidence with myself and felt burden with my university application (Most universities require at least 6.5 in IELTS).
During the summer, I attended an IELTS training course. It should be admitted that many English practicing skills are of great help in preparing IELTS, as many people cannot show their real English level in this kind of exams without enough preparation, even the native English speakers.
Thanks to my teachers Alina and Yoyo in WINSOR IELTS Training Centre，my English listening and reading aspects have improved dramatically. I was impressed deeply by the “five-step listening training” which was invented by my IELTS listening teacher, Alina. It had significant effects on my listening and then my mark in Listening increased from 6 to 7.5 after practicing in this way for just one month.
I realized that it was hard to achieve as high English level as native English speakers but we were able to get higher mark in IELTS (this is really important for applying for a British university) by skills and hard-work.
Many people may think that exam-oriented education is not really good for us, but “WINSOR IELTS” provides flexible learning ways that are not only used in IELTS but also helpful to our further study in a foreign country.
I also want to thank my writing and speaking teacher Idi and Bonny. They made me feel that English writing and speaking is interesting, enjoyable and challenging. Organizing what I want to talk or write engages my imagination and trains my logic, which is important for me to improve my skills of solving problems in many subjects’ learning.
Now I do not need to worry about my IELTS any more and I can focus on my academic study. It surprised me that I received all of my conditional offers within two weeks after sending my application forms, which is supposed to be rarely seen among the applicants. It was very good news for me and my family, my teachers and friends are all happy for me.
Thanks again, my lovely teachers of WINSOR IELTS Training Centre!
